Objectives

1. Evaluation of the current teaching and learning processes adopted by the Geology Department and upgrade them compared with the international academic reference standards
2. Renewal of the students labs
3. Providing the students labs with new microscopes
4. Establishment of a computer lab supplied with computers together with the necessary software and be used at the same time as a multimedia lab
5. Training the secretary staff on using computers for better performance
6. Training and providing the technicians and inventory staffs with computer for monitoring, recording specimens, inventory work, disseminating information, etc.
7. Training the instructors on the manipulation of some of the software
8. Upgrading the syllabus of the basic courses given to students with those given in one of the international universities to the extend that do not interfere with the frame of the course curricula for students approved by the Egyptian High Supreme Council of Universities.
9. Preparing courses on CDs to be available for all professors and assistants for instructions before lectures and lab works and be there too for all students at the same time to study when needed.
10. Training professors and instructors on using the data show and closed circuit TV in lecture presentations and lab works for efficiency and clarity.
11. Disseminating the results gained from the project with the other geology departments in Egypt and different faculties by making brochure, website and workshops
